85. If an employee dies while during the suspension period, family pension will be entitled to the family or not?
According to FR 54 (B) (2), Where a Government servant under suspension dies before the disciplinary proceedings instituted against him are concluded, the period between the date of suspension and the date of death shall be treated as duty for all purposes and his family should be paid full pay and allowances for that period he would have been entitled had he not been suspended.
Therefore, the family of such deceased employee is entitled for family pension and other benefits

87. An official who is under suspension is convicted by the Judiciary. Whether can he continue in service after completion of sentence awarded to him?
A notice should be served on the official asking him to state as to why he should not be dismissed/removed from service on account of his conviction in a court of law. On receipt of the reply, the disciplinary authority should carefully examine as to whether the offence committed by him is serious enough to dismiss him from service. Then he should take appropriate action as per Rule 19 of CCS (CCA) Rules & Government of India instructions issued thereunder.
88. Who are all the authorities competent to place a Govt. servant under suspension?
The following are the authorities competent to place a Govt. servant under suspension: -
(i) The Appointing Authority as defined in Rule 2 (a) of CCS (CCA) Rules;
(ii) Any authority to which the Appointing Authority is subordinate;(Subject to rectification within one month).
(iii) The Disciplinary Authority (as defined in Rule 2 (g) of CCS (CCA) rules.
(iv) Any other authority empowered in that behalf.
