How is the seniority determined for LSG Accountants who opt for the general line?

When an LSG Accountant opts for the general line, they will not be permitted to advance their seniority at the cost of their seniority in the accounts line for purposes of promotion. 

Their seniority is to be determined in accordance with letter No. 9/6/79-SPB-II dated 25th February, 1980, meaning their seniority would be notionally fixed with reference to the date they would have normally been promoted to LSG on the basis of their clerical seniority.
