Is reservation under the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) / Physically Handicapped (PH) category applicable to promotions to the LSG cadre under Group 'C' cadre restructuring?

No. As per the Right of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and DoPT OM No. 36035/02/2017-Estt (Res) dated 15-01-18, reservation is applicable in cases of direct recruitment only. Because promotion to LSG is in the nature of departmental promotion rather than direct recruitment, reservation under the PWD/PH category is not applicable to promotions by seniority or selection.
