 Rules, Rights & Rites -125

I usually post all important items related to official rulings, union news, and other general matters on my YouTube channels: Yourskayveeyes (English) and Anbudan Kayveeyes (Tamil).
However, due to the recent spate of orders and the high volume of information being received, I have not been able to convert every item into a video. Therefore, I am introducing these new slots to post current matters and updates that have not yet been published on YouTube. This ensures you stay informed on every detail, even if a video hasn't been made yet …………….Kayveeyes

Reservations for Persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBDs) in Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) engagement:
The Department of Posts has updated the sub-categories of disabilities suitable for GDS engagement following a review by the Reservation Cell to align with existing government guidelines.
The revised categories apply to Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevaks.
Revised Disability Categories:
i. Category (a): Low Vision (LV).
ii. Category (b): Deaf (D) and Hard of Hearing (HH).
iii. Category (c): Includes One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victim, and Spinal Infirmity or Deformity (without associated neurological/limb dysfunction).
iv. Category (d): Specific learning disability or Intellectual Disability.
v. Category (e): Multiple disabilities involving any combinations from categories (a) through (d), though individuals with both deafness and blindness are excluded.
Specific Conditions for "Both Leg" (BL) Disability:
i. The "Both Leg" (BL) sub-category is specifically eligible only for Dak Sevak posts involving stationery duties.
ii. If a candidate with a BL disability is selected for a post involving delivery or conveyance, they must be transferred to a suitable non-delivery assignment.
Persons with spinal issues that do include neurological or limb dysfunction are covered under the sub-categories of One Arm (OA) or One Leg (OL) for all GDS roles, or Both Leg (BL) exclusively for Dak Sevak roles.
The General Manager of Operations at CEPT, Bengaluru, has been directed to update the GDS online engagement portal to reflect these new provisions
