One Day, One Minute, One Rule – 364
Which direct recruit cadres in the Department of Posts are exempt from the mandatory execution of bonds at the time of joining, and under what regulatory provisions was this practice discontinued?
The Department of Posts has completely discontinued the practice of requiring newly appointed direct recruit candidates to execute institutional bonds upon joining the service. This administrative exemption applies uniformly to the following direct recruit positions:
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)
• Postman
• Mail Guard
• Postal Assistant (PA)
• Sorting Assistant (SA)
• Inspector of Posts (IP)
This order effectively abolishes the bond execution procedures that were previously mandated under the provisions of Appendix 21 of the P&T Manual Volume IV (referenced in the subject line as Appendix 2t).
