 Rules, Rights & Rites -68

I usually post all important items related to official rulings, union news, and other general matters on my YouTube channels: Yourskayveeyes (English) and Anbudan Kayveeyes (Tamil).
However, due to the recent spate of orders and the high volume of information being received, I have not been able to convert every item into a video. Therefore, I am introducing these new slots to post current matters and updates that have not yet been published on YouTube. This ensures you stay informed on every detail, even if a video hasn't been made yet …………….Kayveeyes

Contempt petition filed in the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur on RTP case judgment.

The contempt petition was filed by petitioners, led by Vijay Kumar Upadhyay, against the respondents the department for the implementation of the RTP Judgment.
The petitioners had previously filed a writ petition (WP(S) No. 1912/2021) challenging an order from the CAT, Jabalpur Bench.
The High Court had set aside the CAT's order and directed the respondents to extend benefits, including MACP and pension, to the petitioners.
The petitioners filed representations with the respondents, but no benefits were granted, even after a lapse of more than six months.
The respondents filed a revision petition (No. 72/2025) to justify their non-compliance, but this was dismissed by the High Court on April 4, 2025.
The petitioners argue that the respondents' actions demonstrate a "deliberate, willful and blatant violation" of the High Court's order.
They state that the respondents have no regard for the court's order and are unwilling to obey it. This is presented as "willful disobedience" that undermines the authority of the High Court and amounts to contempt of court.
The petitioners are asking the court to take cognizance of the contempt committed by the respondents and issue directions to ensure effective compliance with the judgment dated October 3, 2024.
