What decision was taken regarding the merger or de-merger of the Inspector Posts (IP) and Inspector Railway Mail Service (IRM) cadres during the Heads of Circles conference held in April 2013?
It was decided to maintain the status quo by retaining the unified cadre of Inspector Posts (IP).
The issue of de-merging the Inspector Posts cadre into two separate IP and IRM cadres was formally deliberated during the Heads of Circles conference on 8th–9th April, 2013. Following the conference, formal feedback was collected from the circles, and the majority of the circles were found to be in favour of keeping a unified cadre.
