7. According to the order No. X-12/6/2021-SPN-II dated December 31st, 2021, what changes were made to the recruiting unit for Postal Assistants and Sorting Assistants?
The order, which came into effect from the recruitment year 2022 (January 1, 2022), changed the recruiting unit for Postal Assistants (PAs) in Postal Divisions and General Post Offices (GPOs), and Sorting Assistants (SAs) in Railway Mail Service (RMS) Divisions from the respective Division/GPO to the Circle.
The entire Circle will now be treated as a single unit for vacancy calculation and maintaining reservation registers for these positions. While the Circle is the recruiting unit, the Divisional Head will continue to serve as the appointing and disciplinary authority.
