93. What clarification was issued regarding the admissibility for reimbursement for travel within the city, particularly concerning taxi/auto charges from residence to the railway station/airport and within the city of tour, according to the Office Memorandum with the Order No. 19030/3/2008-E.IV?
The Office Memorandum with the Order No. 19030/3/2008-E.IV, dated 14th October, 2008, clarified the admissibility for reimbursement for travel within the city. It clarified that the existing provision of Government of India order 7 below of SR-46 will continue to be applicable.
This provision allows for the reimbursement of Taxi/Auto Charges from Residence to the Railway station/Airport, etc., and back at the headquarter station.
Furthermore, it also allows for reimbursement for the journey from the Railway station/Airport, etc., to the place of stay and back at the station of tour. The clarification states that this provision will continue to be applicable in addition to the reimbursement of taxi/travel charges within the city, as referred to in para 3 of the Annexure to the Department's O.M. of the even number dated 23/9/2008.
