21. What was the proposal made regarding officiating arrangements for vacant PA/SA posts, and what information was requested from the circles in response to this proposal?
The National Association of Postal Employees Group-C proposed that vacant Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant (PA/SA) posts be managed by officiating Postmen and MTS, and that the resulting vacancies in the Postman/MTS cadre be filled by engaging Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS).
In response to this proposal, the Department of Posts requested that all circles provide the following information to the Directorate by June 15, 2021:
• Their views and comments on the association's proposal.
• Whether the circle is making any officiating arrangements, and if so, the modalities of those arrangements.
