217. Whether the fitness certificate should be obtained from the same doctor who certified the illness?
Not necessary. The rules do not envisage that the fitness certificate should be given by the same doctor who gave the medical certificate.
218. Whether it is compulsory to produce the medical certificate on the same day of leave sought for?
It may not be possible to produce medical certificates in all cases on the same day. It has therefore been decided that the officials may produce the medical certificates within two days instead of on the same day.

219. Whether the medical certificate obtained from RMPs can be accepted for grant of leave?
Where a non-gazetted govt. servant finds it difficult to obtain medical certificate/Fitness certificate from CGHS/AMA, the leave sanctioning authority may consider grant of leave on the basis of the Medical/Fitness certificate from an RMP after taking into account the circumstances of the specific case.

220. If an official is medically fit on Sunday/holidays and rejoin duty on the next day, what will be the position of the Sunday/holiday?
If an employee is certified medically fit, holiday, if any succeeding the day he is so certified (including that day) shall automatically be allowed to be suffixed to the leave. This indicates clearly that if one is certified medically fit on Sunday/Holiday and if he joins duty on the F.N. of the next working day, the day (Sunday/Holiday) shall be treated suffixed to his leave.
