Two hours off daily for the sportsperson

• The Department of Posts, through its letter dated 25.7.2011, endorsed the need for 2 hours off daily for the regular practice of sports personnel.

• Earlier, a 2-hour off period was provided to all sports personnel as per the Director General's (DG) letter dated 18.2.1994.

• However, to prevent misuse of the 18.2.1994 orders, the 2-hour off was restricted by the 25.7.2011 orders to only those players actively involved and participating in State/National level tournaments.

• Furthermore, it was suggested to place even more liberal sports personnel in jobs from where they could take time off without any difficulty.

• In all other cases, the level of performance and attitude towards sports should be fully considered to ensure their practice is taken care of.

• The Chief Postmaster General (PMG) of Tamilnadu, via his letter dated 1.6.2023, reiterated the same instructions and directed adherence to them. (CPMG, Tamilnadu No.PSB/400-Misc/2019 dated 1.6.2023)

• தபால் துறை, தனது 25.7.2011 தேதியிட்ட கடிதம் மூலம், விளையாட்டு வீரர்களின் வழக்கமான பயிற்சிக்கு தினமும் 2 மணி நேரம் விடுப்பு தேவை என்பதை ஒப்புக்கொண்டது.

• முன்னதாக, 18.2.1994 தேதியிட்ட இயக்குநர் ஜெனரல் (DG) கடிதத்தின்படி, அனைத்து விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்கும் 2 மணி நேர விடுமுறை வழங்கப்பட்டது.

• இருப்பினும், 18.2.1994 தேதியிட்ட உத்தரவுகளை தவறாக பயன்படுத்துவதைத் தவிர்க்க, 25.7.2011 தேதியிட்ட உத்தரவுகள் மூலம், மாநில/தேசிய அளவிலான போட்டிகளில் தீவிரமாக ஈடுபட்டு பங்கேற்கும் வீரர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே அந்த 2 மணி நேர விடுப்பு கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்டது.

• மேலும், அதிக தாராள மனப்பான்மை கொண்ட விளையாட்டு வீரர்களை எந்த சிரமமும் இல்லாமல் விடுப்பு எடுக்கக்கூடிய வேலைகளில் நியமிக்க பரிந்துரைக்கப்பட்டது.

• மற்ற எல்லா விஷயங்களிலும், விளையாட்டு வீரர்களின் செயல்திறன் நிலை மற்றும் விளையாட்டு மீதான அணுகுமுறை ஆகியவை அவர்களின் பயிற்சி கவனிக்கப்படுவதை முழுமையாக உறுதி செய்யும் வகையில் கவனிக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.

• தமிழ்நாடு தலைமை போஸ்ட்மாஸ்டர் ஜெனரல் (PMG), தனது 1.6.2023 தேதியிட்ட கடிதம் மூலம், அதே அறிவுறுத்தல்களை மீண்டும் வலியுறுத்தி, அவற்றைக் கடைப்பிடிக்க உத்தரவிட்டார். (CPMG, தமிழ்நாடு எண்.பிஎஸ்பி/400-மிஸ்க்/2019 தேதியிட்ட 1.6.2023)
