ORGANIZE, ACT & AGITATE

In the year 1921, the Messiah of the P&T worker’s Trade Union movement made this clarion call and himself faithfully implemented what he stated.
The P&T Trade Unions have crossed many milestones since 1921 in its Marathon March along the route and road of the organized strength of unity and struggle. ‘Struggle for unity and unity for the struggle’ – the motto adopted by the NFPTE made the organization a vibrant and stronger one.
The P&T workers have emerged as an invincible force through trial, tribulation and turmoil because of the grass root level organization under the banner of NFPTE. The NFPE is a movement itself and no power could halt this force on its onward march.
Organisation is of primary and paramount importance. Whatever be our grievance and local/circle or general the wresting of the demand or the redressal of the grievance will be in direct proportion to the capacity of our organisation.
We are yet to secure the cadre restructuring and settlement of other demands. We have to halt the excesses of bureaucracy who are running amuck flouting misrule with their topsy turvy decisions and orders. The misuse of power under aegis of ‘Project Arrow’ should be arrested at first. The Project Arrow should not be the Project Sorrow. Unless the offices are provided with full and adequate staff, how can it be possible to make the Project Arrow a successful project?
The bureaucracy shall be made respecting the union and the theory of collective bargaining. We should regain our past glory. It can be achieved only through the organization, the mighty National Federation of Postal Employees.
Without the organization, we cannot act or if we act, we may not succeed. Before we act we should ensure that the organization is in readiness and adequate strength to act. Agitation will become possible only by mobilizing the workers through the organisation.
What is the need of the hour? Let us organize first at all levels. Enroll more members, hold more meetings, intensity activities. Action and agitation acquire dimension and density only in the measure of the organization.
The word ‘organise’ – in full of life and force.
Organize to educate
Organize to hold meetings
Organize to hold demonstration/Dharnas
Organize to hold Rallies/Jathas
Organize to strike
Organize to struggle
Organize to succeed.
Let us organize the postal workers who are not in any organization and those who desire to come out from rival unions.
Let us organize to ensure that all will join us in the long march for the better future of ‘Postal Workers’ under the banner of ‘National Federation of Postal Employees’.
