DOES THE POSTAL BOARD KNOW?
How many Double handed and triple handed Post offices are being managed single handedly.
How the Postmasters are toiling in single handed post offices from dawn to dusk and struggling hard to maintain the Post offices.
Did they know the 30 to 35 percent shortage in the Group C cadre in Post offices.
No compensation/OTA/ assistance is provided to the postal Assistants for managing the shortage.
Will they know that compensation in the name of OTA for shortage to Postal operative side is below to the percentage of 0.001. The exploitation of labour by misusing the disciplinary rules and unbecoming of Govt Servants is the order of day in many divisions.
How many innocents who performs double duties are victimised in the form of contributory negligence and ordered with huge recoveries ignoring the extenuating circumstances.
How many senior BCR officials despite their eligibility for HSG I promotion retired without any promotional benefits.
The present supervisory posts in existence are less than 12% which is very meager for the Group C cadre while comparing other operative departments.
Whether they aware it is only in Postal, the Postal Accountants are treated in PA cadre. In all Govt. Department they have been paid to the LSG scale of pay of Rs. 4500/-
The amount, the Department spent for annual philatelic exhibition will be sufficient to allow the SPL allowance of PO & RMS Accountants for fixation of pay on promotion to TBOP. Do they know that the Postal Accounts officials who passed the JAO Exam were extended similar benefits on ACP. A total discrimination.
The Apex Court held to take RTP service for pension and promotion and it was partially implemented. Will it not tantamount to denial of justice to the similarly placed officials.
The wards of deceased officials are in the streets even after their approval for appointment under relaxation. Will there not be an inch space in the iron heart of the Postal Board to consider their plight mercifully.
The total computerization in Post offices was implemented by the Systems Administrators. Is there any recognition for their devoted service?
Whether it aware that the personal claims of official like TA, OTA, Medical etc. are pending since 2003-04 in many circles? Whether there is any thought to obtain more funds to clear all the pending bills in all Circles? Of course! The wasteful expenditure by conducting melas in five star hotels in the name of the business if curbed to some extent at least will resolve the problem.
Whether it aware the total computerization is only on paper and in practice many computers/printers are out of service? Atleast will they aware that the computers supplied in Directorate in some senior officers chambers are under repair for months together and not attended. Similar is the case of Fax and Xerox machines. As such 60,000 more Laptops computers for Branch offices? Will it serve the purpose or become a white elephant as if the case of AMPC installed in Mumbai & Chennai.
Many more questions, we desire to ask. If the Postal Board is aware of all these and does not want to correct, it will ruin the service. Let them collect these statistics at least under RTI ACT and have some introspection that how the Postal Group C comrades are exploited by them.
Long live Postal and its bureaucracy?
