What actions should Postal Circles take to address the maintenance of staff quarters and resolve issues regarding basic amenities in cases where the work is managed by external authorities?
According to the Department of Posts (Estates Division) letter No. 18-19/2013-Bldg dated 24-05-2013, all Heads of Postal Circles must ensure that regular maintenance and basic amenities like water and electricity are provided to staff quarters. In instances where maintenance is handled by MTNL or BSNL authorities, the matter should be addressed through personal discussions at a higher level with the concerned officials to resolve any outstanding issues. This directive reinforces previous instructions to ensure allottees do not suffer due to dilapidated living conditions.
