Pension/Service Gratuity in case of Compulsory Retirement
This OM details the provisions for pension and gratuity under Rule 44 of the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules 2021 in cases of compulsory retirement.
• Qualifying Service of 10 Years or More: If a Government servant is compulsorily retired after completing a qualifying service of not less than ten years and is eligible for a compulsory retirement pension under Rule 40, the amount of pension shall be a portion or percentage of the superannuation pension as sanctioned by the competent authority.
• Qualifying Service Less than 10 Years: A Government servant compulsorily retired before completing ten years of qualifying service shall be eligible for a compulsory retirement service gratuity under Rule 40. The gratuity amount will be a portion or percentage of the superannuation service gratuity as sanctioned by the competent authority.
