Revision of conveyance allowance:
129. What modification was made to the rates of fixed conveyance allowance for Central Government employees as per the corrigendum issued by the Ministry of Finance in 2023?
According to the Corrigendum No. 19039/3/2017-E.IV dated 13th December, 2023, the Government of India modified the rate of "fixed Conveyance Allowance" for journeys performed by an employee's own motor car. Specifically, for the distance range of 451-600 km (listed in Column 2 at Row 3 of the original 2017 order), the rate was revised to be read as Rs. 3105 instead of the previously stated Rs. 2980. This order refers back to the original Office Memorandum of the same number dated 19th July, 2017, which implemented the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations, and confirms that all other content of that original memorandum remains unchanged.
