Rules, Rights & Rites -6 - Revision of 'Schedule of Engaging Authority, Disciplinary Authority and Appellate Authority' for all categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks

I usually post all important items related to official rulings, union news, and other general matters on my YouTube channels: Yourskayveeyes (English) and Anbudan Kayveeyes (Tamil).

However, due to the recent spate of orders and the high volume of information being received, I have not been able to convert every item into a video. Therefore, I am introducing these new slots to post current matters and updates that have not yet been published on YouTube. This ensures you stay informed on every detail, even if a video hasn't been made yet …………….Kayveeyes

Revision of 'Schedule of Engaging Authority, Disciplinary Authority and Appellate Authority' for all categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) under Rule 31 of GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020.

  • The OM refers to a previous Directorate O.M. dated 28.07.2020 and Rule 31 of the GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020, which initially issued/revised the SEDA.
  • It has been decided to further revise the SEDA in respect of all categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) as contained in Rule 31 of the Rules, with immediate effect.
  • Disciplinary proceedings that have already been initiated will continue in the usual manner. However, any penalty awarded will be imposed by the Disciplinary Authority as per the Revised SEDA.
  • Any appeals against punishments that were already inflicted up to the date of the OM will continue to be decided by the Appellate Authorities as per the pre-revised SEDA.
  • The revision is issued with the approval of the competent authority.
