Use of Staff Cars for Journeys to Terminals While on Tour
126. According to Letter No. 3(15)-E.II (A)/86 dated 29th October, 1986, what are the restrictions regarding the use of staff cars for journeys between a residence and an airport, railway station, or bus station in connection with official tours?
Under the provisions of Letter No. 3(15)-E.II (A)/86 dated 29th October, 1986, the Ministry of Finance reviewed and modified the existing Staff Car Rules concerning official tour travel. It was decided that the use of staff cars for journeys from a residence to an airport, railway station, or bus station (and back) should generally not be permitted. These journeys are only allowed in exceptional circumstances and require the prior written sanction of the Secretary of the concerned Department. This decision was issued to all Ministries and Departments for strict compliance across all subordinate formations.
