Travelling Allowance for Re-employed Central Government Pensioners

122. According to Office Memorandum No. 19030/4/2020-E.IV dated 24th January, 2022, how is the admissibility of Travelling Allowance (TA) regulated for a pensioner who has already claimed TA on retirement and is subsequently re-employed at a different station?

Under the provisions of Office Memorandum No. 19030/4/2020-E.IV dated 24th January, 2022, a pensioner who has already claimed retirement TA is eligible for TA (including TA for self and family, Composite Transfer Grant, and transportation of personal effects/conveyance) upon re-employment if the appointment is at a station other than their place of settlement or necessitates a change of residence. In such cases, the TA for joining the post and the TA allowed after completing the term of re-employment are both reimbursed by the office or organization where the pensioner is currently re-employed. The entitlement for this allowance is determined based on the post last held and the last pay drawn under the Central Government at the time of the individual's retirement.
