31. What happens to Family Pension if the only eligible child is a minor, and the guardian misutilizes the funds?
If the guardian of a minor recipient of Family Pension is found to be misutilizing funds, the disbursing authority or Head of Office, upon being informed, may take steps to change the guardian or make alternative arrangements for the proper utilization of the pension for the minor's benefit.
32. How are fractions of a rupee treated in the calculation of Family Pension?
Family Pension is rounded off to the next higher rupee (Rule 54(11)).
33. Is Family Pension payable to children born after the retirement of the Government servant?
Yes, children born after the retirement of the Government servant are generally eligible for Family Pension if they meet the other criteria for age, dependency, and marital status (Rule 54(6)(ii)).
34. What is the significance of the "Life Certificate" for a Family Pensioner?
The "Life Certificate" (Para 21.1) is crucial for a Family Pensioner as it serves as proof that the pensioner is alive, thus enabling the continuous disbursement of pension. It must be submitted annually.
35. Can an adopted child claim Family Pension? If so, what are the conditions?
