45. What clarification was provided by the Karnataka Circle regarding the posting of Lower Selection Grade (LSG) officials?
According to letter No. STA/4-4/LSG/Misc/Dlgs/II, dated May 31, 2021, the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, addressed the issue of posting LSG officials to their requested places.
The clarification was prompted by instances where officials promoted to the LSG cadre were posted to locations outside their desired Region/Division/Station due to a lack of vacancies. These officials would later request a transfer back to their original locations before completing the required two years in the new post.
In response, the competent authority ordered that the requests of senior LSG officials should be considered first when filling vacancies. The letter also clarified that while officials are required to work in a post for two years if they accept it, there is no restriction on transferring from one supervisory post to another within the same station or to a different station before the two-year period is complete. This provided clarity on transfer requests and the consideration of seniority for postings.
