What is the condition for the grant of special casual leave for organ donation?

According to DOPT OM No. A-24011/23/2022_Estt (Leave) dated 25.4.2023, the following provisions are in place for granting special casual leave to government employees who donate organs:

• 42 days of special casual leave will be granted to employees donating their organs to other human beings. This 42-day duration is fixed, regardless of the specific surgery, as per doctors' recommendations.

• This special casual leave should not be combined with any other type of leave, except in exceptional cases involving post-surgical complications.

• The leave can be taken in one continuous stretch, starting from the day of hospital admission. If there are preparatory requirements before the surgery, the employee can take the leave up to a maximum of one week prior to the surgery.

• Treatment can be received at any authorized hospital. If treatment is received at a private hospital due to the unavailability of authorized hospitals, a medical certificate from the Head of Department (HOD) of the private hospital is mandatory.

• These provisions are effective from 25.4.2023.

DOPT OM எண். A-24011/23/2022_Estt (விடுப்பு) தேதி 25.4.2023 இன் படி, உறுப்பு தானம் செய்யும் அரசு ஊழியர்களுக்கு சிறப்பு தற்செயல் விடுப்பு வழங்குவதற்கான பின்வரும் விதிகள் உள்ளன:

• மற்ற மனிதர்களுக்கு தங்கள் உறுப்புகளை தானம் செய்யும் ஊழியர்களுக்கு 42 நாட்கள் சிறப்பு தற்செயல் விடுப்பு வழங்கப்படும். மருத்துவர்களின் பரிந்துரைகளின்படி, குறிப்பிட்ட அறுவை சிகிச்சையைப் பொருட்படுத்தாமல், இந்த 42 நாள் கால அளவு நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• அறுவை சிகிச்சைக்குப் பிந்தைய சிக்கல்கள் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட விதிவிலக்கான சந்தர்ப்பங்களைத் தவிர, இந்த சிறப்பு தற்செயல் விடுப்பு வேறு எந்த வகை விடுப்புடனும் இணைக்கப்படக்கூடாது.

• மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்ட நாளிலிருந்து தொடங்கி, விடுப்பை ஒரே தொடர்ச்சியான நீட்சியில் எடுக்கலாம். அறுவை சிகிச்சைக்கு முன் தயாரிப்பு தேவைகள் இருந்தால், அறுவை சிகிச்சைக்கு அதிகபட்சம் ஒரு வாரம் முன்பு ஊழியர் விடுப்பு எடுக்கலாம்.

• எந்த அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட மருத்துவமனையிலும் சிகிச்சை பெறலாம். அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட மருத்துவமனைகள் கிடைக்காததால் தனியார் மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்றால், தனியார் மருத்துவமனை துறைத் தலைவர் (HOD) வழங்கிய மருத்துவச் சான்றிதழ் கட்டாயமாகும்.

• இந்த விதிகள் 25.4.2023 முதல் அமலுக்கு வருகின்றன.
