1. Who is called a Government Servant?
Any person appointed by the Central Government to any Civil Service or post in connection with the affairs of the union and includes a civilian in a Defence Service, or holds a civil post under the union is called a Government Servant.

2. Whether GDS (Formerly ED Agents) are Government Servants?
No. Though the Hon. Supreme Court has declared them as holders of Civil posts outside the regular services in the historic Judgment dated 22.04.1977, the Government has not yet allowed the status and all privileges extended as Government Servants.

3. Who are the members of the family in relation to a Government Servant?
Wife or husband, as the case may be, sons/daughters including step sons/step daughters who are wholly dependent on the Government servant and any other persons related by blood or marriage and wholly dependent on him.

4. What is the general conduct and behaviour a Government servant shall at all times maintain?
Every Government Servant shall at all times maintain
(i) Absolute integrity
(ii) Devotion to duty
(iii) Do nothing which is un-becoming of a Government servant
(2) Government Servants holding supervisory post shall also take all possible steps to ensure the integrity and devotion to duty of other Government servants who are under his control and authority

1. அரசு ஊழியர் என்று யார் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்?

மத்திய அரசால் எந்தவொரு சிவில் சர்வீஸ் அல்லது மத்திய அரசின் விவகாரங்களுடன் தொடர்புடைய பதவியில் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட எந்தவொரு நபரும் அரசு ஊழியர் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறார், மேலும் பாதுகாப்பு சேவையில் ஒரு குடிமகன் அல்லது மத்திய அரசின் கீழ் ஒரு சிவில் பதவியை வகிப்பவர் உட்பட.

2. GDS (முன்னர் ED முகவர்கள்) அரசு ஊழியர்களா?

இல்லை. மாண்புமிகு உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் 22.04.1977 தேதியிட்ட வரலாற்றுச் தீர்ப்பில் அவர்களை வழக்கமான சேவைகளுக்கு வெளியே சிவில் பதவிகளை வகிப்பவர்கள் என்று அறிவித்திருந்தாலும், அரசாங்கம் இன்னும் அந்த நிலையையும் அரசு ஊழியர்களாக நீட்டிக்கப்பட்ட அனைத்து சலுகைகளையும் அனுமதிக்கவில்லை.

3. அரசு ஊழியருடன் தொடர்புடைய குடும்ப உறுப்பினர்கள் யார்?

மனைவி அல்லது கணவர், எதுவாக இருந்தாலும், அரசு ஊழியரை முழுமையாகச் சார்ந்திருக்கும் மகன்கள்/மகள்கள், மாற்றாந்தாய் மகன்கள்/மாற்றாந்தாய் மகள்கள் உட்பட, மற்றும் இரத்தம் அல்லது திருமணம் மூலம் தொடர்புடைய மற்றும் அவரை முழுமையாகச் சார்ந்திருக்கும் வேறு எந்த நபர்களும்.

4. அரசு ஊழியர் எல்லா நேரங்களிலும் பராமரிக்க வேண்டிய பொதுவான நடத்தை மற்றும் நடத்தை என்ன?

ஒவ்வொரு அரசு ஊழியரும் எல்லா நேரங்களிலும் பின்வருவனவற்றைப் பராமரிக்க வேண்டும்:

(2) மேற்பார்வைப் பதவியில் இருக்கும் அரசு ஊழியர்கள், தங்களது கட்டுப்பாட்டின் கீழ் மற்றும் அதிகாரத்தின் கீழ் இருக்கும் மற்ற அரசு ஊழியர்களின் நேர்மை மற்றும் கடமையில் அர்ப்பணிப்பை உறுதி செய்வதற்கான அனைத்து சாத்தியமான நடவடிக்கைகளையும் எடுக்க வேண்டும்.
