• சுக்கு, மிளகு, திப்பிலி என்னும் மூலிகைகள் உடலுக்கு நன்மை செய்வது போல் இந்நூலில் ஒவ்வொரு பாட்டிலும் உள்ள மூன்று கருத்துக்கள் வாழ்விற்கு நன்மை செய்யும். ஆதலால் இந்நூல் திரிகடுகம் என்றுஅழைக்கப் படுகிறது

நன் பயம் காய்வின்கண் கூறலும், பின் பயவாக்
குற்றம் பிறர் மேல் உரைத்தலும், - இம் மூன்றும்
தெற்றெனவு இல்லார் தொழில். . . . .[54]
"தன் பயம் தூக்காரைச் சார்தலும்" - தனக்கு நன்மை செய்யாதவர்களை நண்பர்களாக கொள்வதும்
"தான் பயவா நன் பயம் காய்வின்கண் கூறலும்" - தான் உதவி செய்யாத நேரத்தில் மற்றவர்களின் உதவியை எதிர்பார்த்து பேசுவதும்
"பின் பயவா குற்றம் பிறர் மேல் உரைத்தலும்" - பயனற்ற குற்றங்களை மற்றவர் மீது சுமத்துவதும்
"இம் மூன்றும் தெற்றெனவு இல்லார் தொழில்" - இந்த மூன்று செயல்களும் நேர்மையற்ற/அறிவற்ற மக்களின் செயல்கள்
நட்பு என்பது பரஸ்பர நன்மையை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டது. பிறருக்கு உதவாமல் உதவியை எதிர்பார்ப்பது தவறு. பிறர் மீது பொய்யான குற்றம் சாட்டுவது கீழ்த்தரமான செயல்
தனக்கு உதவி செய்யாதவரைச் சேர்தல், சினம் கொண்ட போது பயன்படாத சொற்களைப் பேசுவது, குற்றங்களைப் பிறர் மேல் சொல்லுதல் ஆகியவை அறிவில்லாதவர் செயலாகும்.

These three actions are described as the work of those who are clearly lacking (in wisdom or integrity), emphasizing that such behavior is unwise and unethical.
