CGHS – Important guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health
• Cashless CGHS facility is obligatory for pensioners, serving employees and there is no any provision to take advance at the time of admission.
• No charge for infection control. It is essential for the HCOs to maintain infection control.
• No demand of photocopy of CGHS card. It can be verified from the CGHS app or Director.
• Hospitalised beneficiaries and emergencies do not require any separate permission letter.
• The stamp is not mandatory on the referral memo.
• Prescriptions must be given in a printed form always. It should be being in a generic format. Dietary supplements should not be included.
• Establish a dedicated CGHS Kiosk (Help Desk)
• Name of the Nodal officer and his contact number should be displayed.
• Pensioners aged 70 years and above shall be permitted to seek direct OPD consultation from the Specialists of empanelled hospitals without referral from CGHS.
• HCO shall retain the scanned copy and return the original to the beneficiary.
• CS (MA) beneficiaries can get treatment at CGHS rates from any of the HCOs recognised under CGHS.
• Bills to be verified and signed by the pensioners at the time of discharge.
• In case CGHS beneficiary wants to get the test done in any other empanelled centres, then test prescribed by the specialists of Pvt empanelled hospitals must be endorsed by the CGHS wellness centre.
