Revision to the eligibility criteria for free medical treatment.
• The annual income threshold for patients belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) to avail treatment from identified private hospitals has been increased.
• The income limit has been enhanced from Rs. 2,20,000/- per annum to Rs. 5,00,000/- per annum.
• This decision was made by a Special Committee in compliance with orders from the Hon’ble High Court dated September 2, 2025, and October 31, 2025.
• All Medical Superintendents and Nodal Officers of identified private hospitals are directed to strictly follow this revised criterion immediately.
• The order emphasizes that any non-compliance with these directions will be viewed seriously by the authorities.
