156. Following the implementation of the Seventh Central Pay Commission recommendations, what are the specific directives issued by the Department of Posts regarding dress allowance and the mandatory wearing of uniforms?
As per the communication issued by the Ministry of Communications & IT, Department of Posts, under order F.No.12-6/2017-UPE dated 19th April, 2018, the government has implemented the recommendations of the 7thCPC regarding dress allowance. Following the Department of Expenditure's OM No. 19051/1/2017-E.IV dated 02/08/2017, it was decided that staff members would be provided with a dress allowance of ₹5,000 per year for the purchase of their uniforms.
The order further specifies that Circle Offices must ensure all employees wear the new khaki-colored dress while on duty, as approved by the Department. Additionally, administrative units were directed to immediately furnish a progress report regarding the wearing of this new dress on duty for the period starting from April 2017 onwards.
