95. As per the Office Memorandum with the Order No. No.17-17/86-PAP, to which authority was the power to relax the stipulated one-year period for availing the Travelling Allowance (TA) concession on retirement delegated?

The Office Memorandum with the Order No. No.17-17/86-PAP dated 03.10.1986. addresses the delegation of powers for granting relaxation to journeys on retirement performed after the stipulated period of one year. According to the existing provisions, the retirement journey concession is required to be availed of by a retiring Government servant either during leave preparatory to retirement or within one year of the date of retirement. Any case for availing the concession after this stipulated one-year period was previously required to be referred to the Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure) for concurrence.

The Office Memorandum No.17-17/86-PAP dated 03.10.1986. delegates this power for relaxation. The power to extend the limit of one year for availing the retirement journey concession will now be exercised by the Administrative Ministries/Departments.
