The Department of Posts (Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle), through a letter dated 29.09.2022 and referenced as No. AP TA Misc/Dlgs, provided a clarification regarding the drawal of Transport Allowance (TA) in the case of Ms. Deepika Chaudhary.
The original posting order for Ms. Chaudhary, a Postal Assistant (PA), was issued via Directorate Letter No. X-07/1/2021-SPN-I(DOP) dated 29th November 2021. It was clarified that her entitlement to Transport Allowance, as per the conditions in Directorate letter No. X-07/1/2022-SPN-II dated 29th July 2022, would apply along with her pay and allowances during her attachment to the Directorate.
Crucially, the circle directed that the TA/DA was initially not drawn by the official, but action could be taken as per the Directorate letter dated 29.07.2022, subject to the fulfillment of all other conditions prescribed in the Transport Allowance rules.
This administrative decision also directed that other similar cases in the South Karnataka Region and North Karnataka Region should be examined on the same lines.
