The order, dated June 20, 2023, with the number No. Y-17/2/2023-PE-II-DOP, addressed the restructuring of the Mail Motor Service (MMS) Cadre. It decided to merge the cadre of
Assistant Manager, MMS with Inspector Posts and the cadre of Deputy Manager, MMS with Assistant Superintendent of Posts with immediate effect.
The merger was decided because the posts of Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager in MMS could not be filled due to the absence of feeder grade officials, which was adversely impacting the day-to-day operations of the MMS units. The sanctioned strength of Assistant Manager, MMS was 41 and the sanctioned strength of Deputy Manager, MMS was 4. The detailed modalities for this merger are attached as annexures to the document.
