203 Daily Rules Recap - Single Examination for the posts of MTS/Postman/Mail Guards
• The Department of Posts (DOP), via its order dated October 18, 2023, declared the conduct of a single examination for all three cadres (presumably Postman, Mail Guard, and MTS, given the context).
• As per the October 18, 2023, orders (No. 17-08/2018-SPN-I), candidates may opt for one, two, or all three posts. If a candidate opts for only one cadre, their application will be considered for that specific cadre alone, and they will not be considered for other cadres.
• If a candidate opts for a single cadre, they must also provide their order of preference for divisions. If this preference is not provided, they will not be considered for other divisions, even if they achieve higher marks.
• For MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) candidates, they should indicate their preference for Post Office (PO), Circle Office (CO), Regional Office (RO), or Divisional Postal Accounts (DPA) offices. They must also provide their order of preference for postal divisions.
• Candidates should join the promoted post within 7 days. Failure to do so will be deemed a refusal. Officials who are on leave may be allowed to join after the expiry of their leave period. Such vacant posts will then be offered to the next eligible candidates on the merit list.
• Candidates for Postman/Mail Guard must provide their order of preference for these two cadres. If Postman is their first preference, their application will be considered for the opted division as per their preference. If they are not allotted a Postman position, they will then be considered for a Mail Guard position in their opted division.
• A candidate who opts for Postman (PM), Mail Guard (MG), or MTS will first be considered for Postman/Mail Guard, and if not allotted, they will then be considered for an MTS vacancy in their opted division.
