196. Daily Rules Recap - Posting of OA in divisional office
• Some friends inquired about the minimum service required for posting as an Office Assistant (OA) in the divisional offices of Postal divisions.
• Regarding this issue, an order was issued in 1950, and since then, no other specific guidelines or instructions have been provided concerning the posting of OAs.
• However, as per the existing instructions, clerks who have completed at least five years of service and are deemed suitable should be selected for working in the offices of Superintendents of Post Offices (SPs), Senior Superintendents of Post Offices (SSPs), or Senior Superintendents of Railway Mail Service (SRMS).
• The condition of a five-year service limit may be relaxed only in the case of a Sorting Clerk (TC Clerk) who is to be employed as a typist in the Divisional Office (DO).
