217. Whether Govt. servant can be permitted to leave station/go abroad while on CCL?
Child care leave is granted to a woman employee to take care of the needs of the minor children. If the child is studying abroad or the Govt. servant has to go abroad for taking care of the child, she may do so subject to other conditions laid down for this purpose.
218. Whether CCL can be granted to take care of the third child below the age of 18 years?
No. it is applicable only for the two eldest surviving children only
219. Whether Sundays & holidays are to be excluded for calculation of Child care Leave?
No. The CCL is to be treated like Earned leave and sanctioned as such. Consequently, Saturdays, Sundays, Gazetted holidays are falling during the period of leave would also count for CCL, as in The case of Earned leave.
220. Whether is there any condition to have any earned leave in credit for the purpose of taking Child Care Leave?
There was a condition envisaged in the Office Memorandum relevant to the Child Care Leave to the effect that CCL can be availed only if the employee concerned has no Earned Leave at her credit. However, this condition was withdrawn by the Government vide OM No. 13018/1/2010-Estt (Leave) dated 07.09.2010 and as such there is no need for having EL in credit to avail CCL
