What is the validity of the promotion orders in case of officials promoted but on long leave?

• An employee should assume charge of the promoted post by curtailing their leave if necessary, within the currency of the vacancy year.
• Alternatively, they should assume charge within six months from the date of the promotion orders.
• Or, they should assume charge before the last person borne on the promotion panel is offered promotion.
• Even if an employee does not join the promoted post and remains on long leave, their promotion will become invalid.
• In such cases, their candidature for promotion has to be considered afresh by the next Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) through the normal process. (DOPT OM No. 22034.5.2002_Estt(D) dated 4.8.2004)

• ஒரு ஊழியர் தேவைப்பட்டால் தனது விடுப்பை ரத்து செய்து, காலிப்பணியிட ஆண்டின் காலத்திற்குள் பதவி உயர்வு பெற்ற பதவியின் பொறுப்பை ஏற்க வேண்டும். அல்லது,
• பதவி உயர்வு உத்தரவுகள் வெளியான தேதியிலிருந்து ஆறு மாதங்களுக்குள் அவர்கள் பொறுப்பேற்க வேண்டும். அல்லது,
• பதவி உயர்வு பட்டியலில் உள்ள கடைசி நபருக்கு பதவி உயர்வு வழங்கப்படும் முன்பு அவர்கள் பொறுப்பேற்க வேண்டும்.
• ஒரு ஊழியர் பதவி உயர்வு பெற்ற பதவியில் சேராமல் நீண்ட விடுப்பில் இருந்தால் கூட, அவரது பதவி உயர்வு செல்லாததாகிவிடும்.
• இத்தகைய சந்தர்ப்பங்களில், பதவி உயர்வுக்கான அவரது விண்ணப்பம் அடுத்த துறைசார் பதவி உயர்வு குழுவால் (DPC) வழக்கமான முறையில் புதிதாக பரிசீலிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். (DOPT OM No. 22034.5.2002_Estt(D) தேதியிட்ட 4.8.2004)
