PLEASE READ AND REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING POINTS
READ FOR THE EXAMINATION PURPOSE

1001. Territorial money order should be prepared when the number of money order exceed Ten.  (Rule 154)
1002. Territorial RBs for each state should be prepared when the number of RL exceed Ten. (Rule 154)
1003. Closing of bags
(i) Surface L bags: More than 50 articles. (ii) Surface D bags: More than 50 articles, 6 registered letters. (iii) Air Mail PC: Between 50 to 150 articles. (iv) Air mail bags: More than 150 articles. (Rule 156)
1004. Option related to frequently of visit 
(i) SSRMs/SRMs/ASRMs of Divisional Office of City Divisions.- Three visits a week to mail offices; each night set once a fortnight, one PO in a week.
(ii) SSRMs/SRMs/ASRMs of Divisional Office of non-city division. Once a week visit to a mail office at HQ,3 mail offices in a month outside the headquarter. All the sets are to be visited including the SRO as well as one Post Office in that place.
(iii) SRMs (Sorting) attached to mail offices. - Should visit one set of the Mail Office daily. Of these, two visits will be to the night set every week.
(iv) Sub-Divisional IRMs. - Once a week visit to each Mail Office at headquarters; once a month visit to all Mail Offices including all the sets and the SRO and at least one Post Office. (Rule 157) 
1005. Metro mail survey carried out in Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad Mumbai, Kolkata. (Rule 157)
1006. The survey will be done by project coordinators concerned in the respective metros: with the assistance of i) SSRMs/SRMs ii) SSPOs/SPs iii) ASRMs/ASPs iv) IRMs/IPOs (Rule 157)
1007. Metro mail survey
i) One GPO, Two Sub-Post Offices and one Head Post Office should be selected for the survey.
ii) The survey may be conducted separately in the GPO, the Head Post Office and the Sub-Post Offices. The Sub-Post Offices selected should have a reasonable quantity of mail. 
iii) 25% of the total mail received in the Post Offices is to be studied. 
iv) The list of the Post Offices where the survey has been conducted must be annexed to the report in proforma Forms C &D. (Rule 157) 
1008. All India mail survey has to cover i. Home district ii) Neighbouring circle & distant circle iii) Home circle. (Rule 157) 
1009. All India mail survey
i) The survey will be conducted in one selected P.O. in each Division. The Post Office can be a Head Post Office or a Sub-Post Office.
ii The Heads of Circles will chalk out the Survey Programme in such a way that at least 25% of the Post Offices selected are in rural areas.
iii) The Post Office selected should receive a reasonable quantum of mail. 
iv) At least 25% of the articles received in the Post Office should be taken for the study. (Rule 157) 
1010. Live mail survey is carried out in Monthly (Rule 157) 
1011 Sample survey of mails will be carried out in respect of Metro Channel in the cities of Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore by Project coordinators (Rule 157(A) Vol - VII)
1012. In Sample survey of mails 25 %  of the total mail received in the Post Office is to be studied. (Rule 157(A) Vol - VII)
1013. Sample survey of mails is to be undertaken in the month of September. (Rule 157(A) Vol - VII)
1014. All India Mail survey has to cover Home District, Home Circle, Neighbouring Circle and Distant Circle mails. (Rule 157(A) Vol - VII)
1015. In All India Mail survey, the report is to be prepared as per pro forma Form B (Rule 157(A) Vol - VII)
1016. Live mail survey (monthly) is to be conducted in Two delivery Post Offices in each Postal Division. (Rule 157(A) Vol - VII)
1017. Live mail survey 
i) The survey is to be conducted in one delivery PO in each Postal Division.
ii) The PO to be selected should have a reasonable quantity of mail for study.
iii) 25% of the Post Offices selected for the survey should be in rural areas 
iv) At least 25% of the total mails received in the PO selected is to be studied. (Rule 157)
1018. A register called Un posted register should be maintained in each Mail Office which will show the details of articles received, transferred from the previous set, received in the set, disposed of in the set and transferred to succeeding set. (Rule 157(3) Vol - VII) 
1019. The postal stores depot (Bags) situated at circle HQ are termed as Circle bag office. (Rule 161)
1020. The Postal Directorate 'D' Section will function Central Bag office.  (Rule 161) 
அஞ்சல் விதிகள் (Postal Rules)
1001. பிரதேச பண அஞ்சல் (Territorial Money Order): பண அஞ்சல்களின் எண்ணிக்கை பத்தை (Ten) தாண்டினால், பிரதேச பண அஞ்சல் (Territorial money order) தயாரிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். (விதி 154)
1002. பிரதேச பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட கட்டுகள் (Territorial Registered Bundles - RBs): ஒவ்வொரு மாநிலத்திற்கும் ஆன RL (பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட கடிதங்கள்) எண்ணிக்கை பத்தை (Ten) தாண்டினால், பிரதேச பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட கட்டுகள் (Territorial RBs) தயாரிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். (விதி 154)
1003. பைகளை மூடுதல் (Closing of Bags):
• தரைவழி L பைகள் (Surface L bags): 50-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கட்டுரைகள்.
• தரைவழி D பைகள் (Surface D bags): 50-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கட்டுரைகள், 6 பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட கடிதங்கள்.
• விமான அஞ்சல் PC (Air Mail PC): 50 முதல் 150 கட்டுரைகள் வரை.
• விமான அஞ்சல் பைகள் (Air mail bags): 150-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கட்டுரைகள். (விதி 156)
1004. வருகையின் அதிர்வெண் தொடர்பான விருப்பம் (Option related to frequency of visit):
• (i) நகரப் பிரிவுகளின் (City Divisions) கோட்ட அலுவலகத்தின் SSRMகள்/SRMகள்/ASRMகள்: அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களுக்கு வாரத்திற்கு மூன்று வருகைகள்; ஒவ்வொரு இரவு செட்டிற்கும் மாதத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை; வாரத்திற்கு ஒரு அஞ்சல் அலுவலகம்.
• (ii) நகரமல்லாத பிரிவுகளின் (Non-city divisions) கோட்ட அலுவலகத்தின் SSRMகள்/SRMகள்/ASRMகள்: தலைமை அலுவலகத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்திற்கு வாரத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை; தலைமை அலுவலகத்திற்கு வெளியே மாதத்திற்கு 3 அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்கள். SRO (Superintendent, Railway Mail Service) உட்பட அனைத்து செட்டுகளும் மற்றும் அந்த இடத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு அஞ்சல் அலுவலகமும் பார்வையிடப்பட வேண்டும்.
• (iii) அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களுடன் இணைக்கப்பட்ட SRMகள் (பிரிப்பு): அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்தின் ஒரு செட்டிற்கு தினசரி விஜயம் செய்ய வேண்டும். இவற்றில், வாரத்திற்கு இரண்டு வருகைகள் இரவு செட்டிற்கு இருக்கும்.
• (iv) துணைக்கோட்ட IRMகள்: தலைமை அலுவலகத்தில் உள்ள ஒவ்வொரு அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்திற்கும் வாரத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை; அனைத்து அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களுக்கும், அனைத்து செட்டுகளுக்கும், SRO க்கும் மற்றும் குறைந்தது ஒரு அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்திற்கும் மாதத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை விஜயம். (விதி 157)
1005. மெட்ரோ அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு (Metro Mail Survey):சென்னை, டெல்லி, பெங்களூரு, ஹைதராபாத், மும்பை, கொல்கத்தா ஆகிய நகரங்களில் மெட்ரோ அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு (Metro mail survey) மேற்கொள்ளப்படுகிறது. (விதி 157)
1006. ஆய்வை மேற்கொள்வோர் (Conducting the Survey): அந்தந்த மெட்ரோக்களில் உள்ள திட்ட ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர்கள் (project coordinators) பின்வருபவர்களின் உதவியுடன் ஆய்வை மேற்கொள்வார்கள்: i) SSRMகள்/SRMகள் ii) SSPOகள்/SPகள் iii) ASRMகள்/ASPகள் iv) IRMகள்/IPOகள் (விதி 157)
1007. மெட்ரோ அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு விவரங்கள் (Metro Mail Survey Details): i) ஆய்விற்காக ஒரு GPO (General Post Office), இரண்டு துணை அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்கள் (Sub-Post Offices) மற்றும் ஒரு தலைமை அஞ்சல் அலுவலகம் (Head Post Office) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும். ii) GPO, தலைமை அஞ்சல் அலுவலகம் மற்றும் துணை அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களில் ஆய்வு தனித்தனியாக நடத்தப்படலாம். தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட துணை அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களில் நியாயமான அளவு அஞ்சல்கள் இருக்க வேண்டும். iii) அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களில் பெறப்பட்ட மொத்த அஞ்சல்களில் 25% ஆய்வு செய்யப்பட வேண்டும். iv) ஆய்வு நடத்தப்பட்ட அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களின் பட்டியல், படிவங்கள் C & D இல் உள்ள அறிக்கையுடன் இணைக்கப்பட வேண்டும். 1008. அகில இந்திய அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு உள்ளடக்கம் (All India Mail Survey Coverage): அகில இந்திய அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு பின்வருவனவற்றை உள்ளடக்க வேண்டும்: i. சொந்த மாவட்டம் (Home district) ii. அருகிலுள்ள வட்டம் (Neighbouring circle) & தொலைதூர வட்டம் (distant circle) iii. சொந்த வட்டம் (Home circle). (விதி 157)
1009. அகில இந்திய அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு (All India Mail Survey): i) ஒவ்வொரு பிரிவிலும் (Division) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்தில் ஆய்வு நடத்தப்படும். அஞ்சல் அலுவலகம் ஒரு தலைமை அஞ்சல் அலுவலகமாகவோ அல்லது துணை அஞ்சல் அலுவலகமாகவோ இருக்கலாம். ii) வட்டத் தலைவர்கள் (Heads of Circles), தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களில் குறைந்தது 25% கிராமப்புறங்களில் (rural areas) இருக்கும் வகையில் ஆய்வுத் திட்டத்தை வகுப்பார்கள். iii) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட அஞ்சல் அலுவலகம் நியாயமான அளவு அஞ்சல்களைப் பெற வேண்டும். iv) அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்தில் பெறப்பட்ட கட்டுரைகளில் குறைந்தது 25% ஆய்வுக்காக எடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும். 1010. நேரடி அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு (Live Mail Survey):நேரடி அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு (Live mail survey) மாதந்தோறும் மேற்கொள்ளப்படுகிறது. (விதி 157)
1011. அஞ்சல்களின் மாதிரி ஆய்வு (Sample Survey of Mails):சென்னை, டெல்லி, மும்பை, கொல்கத்தா, ஹைதராபாத் மற்றும் பெங்களூரு நகரங்களில் உள்ள மெட்ரோ சேனல் (Metro Channel) தொடர்பாக திட்ட ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர்களால் அஞ்சல்களின் மாதிரி ஆய்வு (Sample survey of mails) மேற்கொள்ளப்படும். (விதி 157(A) தொகுதி VII)
1012. மாதிரி ஆய்வின் அளவு (Extent of Sample Survey): அஞ்சல்களின் மாதிரி ஆய்வில், அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்தில் பெறப்பட்ட மொத்த அஞ்சல்களில் 25% ஆய்வு செய்யப்பட வேண்டும். (விதி 157(A) தொகுதி VII)
1013. மாதிரி ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் மாதம் (Month for Sample Survey): அஞ்சல்களின் மாதிரி ஆய்வு செப்டம்பர் மாதத்தில் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட வேண்டும். (விதி 157(A) தொகுதி VII)
1014. அகில இந்திய அஞ்சல் ஆய்வின் உள்ளடக்கம் (All India Mail Survey Coverage - Reiteration): அகில இந்திய அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு சொந்த மாவட்டம் (Home District), சொந்த வட்டம் (Home Circle), அருகிலுள்ள வட்டம் (Neighbouring Circle) மற்றும் தொலைதூர வட்டம் (Distant Circle) அஞ்சல்களை உள்ளடக்க வேண்டும். (விதி 157(A) தொகுதி VII)
1015. அகில இந்திய அஞ்சல் ஆய்வறிக்கை (All India Mail Survey Report): அகில இந்திய அஞ்சல் ஆய்வில், அறிக்கை படிவம் B (pro forma Form B) இன் படி தயாரிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். (விதி 157(A) தொகுதி VII)
1016. நேரடி அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு (மாதாந்திரம்) (Live Mail Survey (Monthly)):நேரடி அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு (மாதாந்திரம்) ஒவ்வொரு அஞ்சல் பிரிவிலும் உள்ள இரண்டு விநியோக அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களில் (Two delivery Post Offices) நடத்தப்பட வேண்டும். (விதி 157(A) தொகுதி VII)
1017. நேரடி அஞ்சல் ஆய்வு விவரங்கள் (Live Mail Survey Details): i) ஒவ்வொரு அஞ்சல் பிரிவிலும் உள்ள ஒரு விநியோக அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்தில் ஆய்வு நடத்தப்பட வேண்டும். ii) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படும் அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்தில் ஆய்வுக்காக நியாயமான அளவு அஞ்சல்கள் இருக்க வேண்டும். iii) ஆய்வுக்காகத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட அஞ்சல் அலுவலகங்களில் 25% கிராமப்புறங்களில் (rural areas) இருக்க வேண்டும். iv) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்தில் பெறப்பட்ட மொத்த அஞ்சல்களில் குறைந்தது 25% ஆய்வு செய்யப்பட வேண்டும். 1018. பதியப்படாத பதிவேடு (Unposted Register): ஒவ்வொரு அஞ்சல் அலுவலகத்திலும் பதியப்படாத பதிவேடு (Un posted register) என்ற ஒரு பதிவேடு பராமரிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். இது பெறப்பட்ட கட்டுரைகளின் விவரங்கள், முந்தைய செட்டிலிருந்து மாற்றப்பட்டவை, செட்டில் பெறப்பட்டவை, செட்டில் அப்புறப்படுத்தப்பட்டவை மற்றும் அடுத்த செட்டிற்கு மாற்றப்பட்டவை ஆகியவற்றைக் காட்டும். (விதி 157(3) தொகுதி VII)
1019. வட்டப் பை அலுவலகம் (Circle Bag Office): வட்டத் தலைமை அலுவலகத்தில் (circle HQ) அமைந்துள்ள அஞ்சல் பொருட்கள் சேமிப்பு கிடங்கு (Postal stores depot - Bags) வட்டப் பை அலுவலகம் (Circle bag office) என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. (விதி 161)
1020. மத்தியப் பை அலுவலகம் (Central Bag Office): அஞ்சல் இயக்குநரகத்தின் (Postal Directorate) 'D' பிரிவு மத்தியப் பை அலுவலகமாக (Central Bag office) செயல்படும். (விதி 161)
