• India Post now Partners with NBCC for Real Estate Commercialization
• Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between India Post and NBCC (India) Ltd.
• To initiate feasibility studies of identified unutilized or underutilized properties and land parcels of India Post.
• Unlock full potential and enhance long-term value for the Department.
• NBCC (National Building Construction Company) Government Navratna company and its Core Business is Real estate development and specialised in Identifying vacant government properties and undertaking their development.
• The Objective of the MOU is for Developing prime real estate for commercial purposes and to revamp and reposition the entire India Post network.
• The Asset Base includes over 1.6 lakh post offices.
• The Communication Minister said it is "Sweat Our Assets" emphasized the need to optimize existing resources and to convert properties with large land parcels into profit centers.
• First step in assessing the viability of commercial development and maximize the commercial worth of India Post's real estate. Transform underutilized assets into revenue-generating entities. Implement the vision for modernizing and monetizing India Post's infrastructure.
• Identification of commercially viable properties. Development of unused/underused land and buildings. Generation of new revenue streams for India Post. Better utilization of government assets.
