Kayveeyes’ Daily Rules Recap
21. Even on maternity leave the increment will be drawn only after assuming duty
Increment During Leave:
• Maternity Leave: Increments due during maternity leave are received only upon rejoining duty.
• Other Leaves (EL, CL, HPL, LND): Increments due during these leaves are also received only upon rejoining duty, even though the actual increment date remains unchanged.
It will not be termed as duty on promotion. As per FR 17(1) of FR & SR- Part I-General Rules", an officer shall begin to draw the pay and allowances attached to the post only from the date he assumes the duties of that post.
When an employee is proceeding on leave, she is entitled to draw leave salary equivalent to the pay drawn before proceeding on such leave. Accordingly, the annual increment falling during the period of maternity leave will be drawn only from the date on which one joins her duties.
If the normal date of increment of a Government Servant falls during a period when he remains on EL/Com. Leave/HPL/LND, the benefit of such increment is actually paid to him only from the date he joins duty on expiry of leave though the actual date of next increment remains unaffected.
